A Turkish general cargoship has run aground on a Greek beach while heading to Istanbul.

Footage from Diavlosnews shows the 3,300-dwt Arslanbey (built 1989) stuck bow-first on sand metres from beach umbrellas and sunbeds.

The incident occurred on Tuesday evening on the north coast of the island of Evia.

The crew of 14 was not injured.

The vessel was in ballast.
