The 64,000-dwt Rapier (built 1984) is in the TatarskiyStrait en route from Korea to Vanino.
An AIS update from Sunday reported it as “not under command,” but on Mondayafternoon it was shown anchored or moored about 2km from the coast.
There are no icebreakers in the area to help the vessel, which isoperated by Samsun Logix, the Maritime Bulletin reported.
A number of other vessels are also believed to be indifficulty in the area.
