The 774–gt Fromveur II (built 2011) ran aground half a mile north of Molene onTuesday morning, French media said.

The vessel was unable to immediately refloat and 365 passengers were takenoff in lifeboats.

It was eventually able to move free later on Tuesday and was escorted intoMolene.

The ship, operated by the Conseil General du Finistere, suffered a gash inthe engine-room hull measuring 40 centimetres.
