The case arose from the grounding of the 1,800-dwt Danio(built 2001) in the Farne Islands last March after the look-out fell asleep.

Cux admitted two safety breaches under Merchant ShippingRegulations: failing to maintain a proper look-out on board the vessel andhaving an alarm safety system which was not switched on.
