The 30,300-gt Stena Superfast VIII (built 2001) drifted from its berth on Tuesday as the tail-end of Hurricane Gonzalo hit Northern Ireland.

A company spokesman confirmed to the Belfast Telegraph that there were 18 passengers and 55 crew on board.

"Severe weather conditions in Belfast port caused the Stena Superfast VIII to drift from her berth at VT4. Tugs from the port were deployed to help manoeuvre the ship back on to berth," he said.
