The Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) issued the direction to the Indonesian flagged, Meratus Lines-owned 3,194-dwt Territory Trader (built 1991).

The move is a result of repeated detentions and a history of machinery and equipment malfunctions, and breakdowns involving the ship.

“The Territory Trader has been detained on three occasions since July 2013, prompting serious concerns the vessel is not being operated or managed to meet applicable standards,” AMSA said.
