The breaking yard Fornaes said the 4,200-dwt Kertu (built 1996) berthed on 1 December.
The ship is the subject of an investigation by Maltese authorities after it reportedly sustained flooding in its cargo hold and damaged a fuel tank off Stockholm.
No injuries were reported and all nine crew members were evacuated by the Swedish Coastguard.
Kertu was reported to have been in ballast at the time.
