The 29,700-dwt Lubie (built 2011) was heading from Marionette in Wisconsin to Windsor on 7 December when it alerted the US Coast Guard that a man may have been lost overboard, 9&10 News reported.
A helicopter and ship were sent to the scene, but the 55-year-old was located face down in the water nine miles from Rogers City. He was pronounced dead in hospital.
