The Norwegian-flagged 4,065-dwt Edda Frende (built 2009) reported the incident to authorities early on Friday.

OwnersOstensjo Rederi said the fire was “quickly extinguished and the situation is now under control.”

“The crew are safe and doing fine. There are no personal injuries to any of the 14 crew members onboard,” it said in a statement.

The ship was on its way from Aberdeen to the oilfield on British sector when the fire broke out.
