The incident involving the 1,100-gt passengership Sultanahmet (built 2008) off Istanbul left one person with minor injuries, Turkish media said.

Istanbul ferry group IDO said its vessel had come into contact with the 28,600-dwt Tanais Dream (built 2003), owned by Tanais Shipping of Malta.

Pictures showed the rear of the ferry with buckling damage.

It did not take on water and passengers were safely disembarked at its berth, however.
