Local media reported that a vessel named as Sea Trader, described as a bulker of around 5,000 gt, was in distress on Wednesday.
It was en route to Yeosu when the country's coast guard sent a rescue vessel to bring it to a safe anchorage.
The crew of 20 includes 16 Myanmarese.
