A spokeswoman for Hoegh LNG said the 170,000-cbm Hoegh Gallant (built 2014) was “lightly touched” in the bow area by US-listed Carnival Corp’s 2,114-berth Costa Atlantica (built 2000) while the LNG ship was moored to a jetty in Huarun Dadong Dockyard in Shanghai on 21 January.
She said the incident caused “limited damage” and “no changes” to the schedule for Hoegh Gallant, which is due to start a five-year charter to Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Co (Egas) shortly.
