The move is being carried out following a successful ship-to-ship transfer of fuel oil from the 7,500-dwt Lysblink Seaways (built 2000).
Hugh Shaw, the UK Secretary of State’s Representative for Maritime Salvage & Intervention has authorised the move.
“As bad weather has been forecast for the coming days, a risk assessment has been carried out and the decision taken to move the vessel into a more sheltered position,” the Maritime & Coastguard Agency (MCA) said.
