A 36-year-old diver has died after becoming trapped in a gate valve at a Palumbo shipyard in Bormla, Malta.
Local media said the man had gone underwater to commence work on a dock gate.
Emergency services were called after he failed to reappear.
Army divers went down after him and found him stuck in the valve.
He was taken to hospital but pronounced dead on arrival.
