The 9,122-dwt Flinterstar (built 2002) is said to be partially submerged and sitting on a sandbank and is described as being in a ‘stable’ condition.
“At this time, we are talking to salvage companies together with insurance to decide how the vessel will be salvaged,” the company said in a statement.
“The Flinterstar has already been inspected by divers and these inspections will continue overnight during slack tide.
