A UK accident report has been unable to explain why a ro-pax smashed into a breakwater at Dover last year, injuring 13 people.

The 36,000-gt Dover Seaways (built 2006) was heading to Dunkirk on 9 November 2014 when the incident occurred, the Marine Accident Investigation Branch (MAIB) said.

It added a loss of directional control was the cause and this was blamed on a change in the mode of steering control.
