A Norwegian-owned bitumen carrier with 15 crew members has been confirmed as hijacked off the coast of Tanzania.
The beneficial owner and commercial manager of the 3,884-dwt Asphalt Venture (built 1991) are, however, remaining mum on the ordeal with no word on the state of the all-Indian crew.
TradeWinds reported earlier on Wednesday that the Panama-flagged ship was feared hijacked, something which was confirmed later by counter-piracy force EU NAVFOR.
