A Chinese-led consortium has begun the process of raising the tragic ferry Sewol.

The ship went down in 2014 off South Korea, killing more than 300 people.

A group including Shanghai Salvage and a South Korean company must bring the ship 40 metres to the surface.The project will cost $73m, the BBC reported.

Preparations were completed on Sunday.
