The number of incidents reported to the UK’s Marine Accident Investigation Branch (MAIB) fell in 2015, it said on Thursday.

Steve Clinch, chief inspector of marine accidents, said: “It is encouraging to note that only 1,057 accidents were reported to the MAIB in 2015, compared to 1,270 in 2014.”
