Two oil tankers have collided off Belgium’s Bruges earlier this morning with limited damage caused.

Head of Belgium’s Marine Rescue Co-ordination Centre (MRCC), Rejane Gyssens, told TradeWinds the 73,307-dwt Maistros (built 2009) hit the 50,215-dwt Ridgebury Katherine Z (built 2009) before 7am today.

Maistros was going to anchor at a speed of three knots while the other tanker was anchored.

Gyssens said that, thanks to the low speed, the damaged caused due to the collision was minimal.
