A fire on a cruiseship newbuilding has been quickly extinguished at Meyer Werft in Germany.

Welding work caused a blaze on the 168,800-gt Norwegian Joy on Wednesday, the NOZ daily said.

No injuries were reported, but the yard said damage of EUR 50,000 ($56,000) may have been incurred.

The accident will not push back delivery to NCL, which is set for 2017.
