Danish shipowning giant AP Moller-Maersk is slashing its workforce as part of an ongoing cost cutting exercise.

About 100 jobs will be axed at its Hamburg Sud subsidiary in Germany, with further job losses at other divisions, including its head office in Copenhagen.

“We have announced internally the need to save cost in our head office functions and that it will also lead to reductions both in and outside Denmark,” AP Moller-Maersk said in a statement.
