US carriers Matson and the Pasha Group are putting boxships into lay-up in another sign of collapsing demand for container freight.
New York-listed, Honolulu-based Matson confirmed that the 707-teu Kamokuiki (built 2000), previously in trades from China with New Zealand, has been laid up in Brunei Bay in Labuan, Malaysia.
