Korea Offshore & Shipbuilding Engineering (KSOE) disclosed on Monday that it has signed newbuilding orders worth KRW 211.1bn ($173m) with a company in Africa for five 1,800-teu feeder container ships.

It said Hyundai Mipo Dockyard (HMD) will construct the vessels and deliver them by the first half of 2024.

KSOE — a subsidiary of HD Hyundai, previously known as Hyundai Heavy Industries Holdings — is the holding company for Hyundai Heavy Industries, HMD and non-listed Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries.
