NSC Schiffahrtgesellschaft owner Roberto Echevarria says his company could not have achieved its meteoric growth since being founded five years ago if it had been outside Germany.
“Definitely not,” said Echevarria who acknowledges the benefit of Germany’s KG (limited partnership) and tonnage tax system.
By 2011 Hamburg-based NSC will have more than 80 vessels operating.
“This is a long-term project which I hope can be passed to the next generation,” he told TradeWinds during its Maritime Outsourcing Forum in Copenhagen where Echevarria was among the speakers.
