Royal Bank of Scotland’s (RBS) main freight derivatives trader is jumping ship to competitor Citigroup where he will boost the American group’s commodity and freight team.

Richard Bowler, who has been with RBS thirteen years, will join Citi in October where he will report to the group’s head of European Commodities, Paul Mead.

Bowler earlier spearheaded a push into FFA trading for RBS in 2004, where he worked with the bank’s head of commodities Andy Hartree.
