Fresh off its purchase of two panamax containerships, US private equity player Fortress Investments today closed another purchase in the shipping space, that of container lessor Interpool.
Low profile Fortress confirmed the acquisition of the company by Chariot Acquisition Holding LLC, a vehicle formed by certain funds managed by Fortress.
Agreement to ‘merge’ the two parties was reached on 20 April.
