Norwegian classification society DNV GL has stepped up its digitalisation drive with a new executive committee appointment.

Former Volvo man Klas Bendrik is joining the group as chief digital transformation officer to support its IT strategy.

He begins work on 1 September, reporting to CEO Remi Eriksen.

Eriksen said: "Digitalisation is central to our strategy.

"DNV GL invests 5% of its revenue on research, development and innovation, and now more than 60% of this is dedicated to our digital transformation.
