Fortescue Metals Group (FMG) has won the tender for the second towage licence at Australia’s Port Hedland.
The contract was awarded to FMG subsidiary Pilbara Marine by the Pilbara Ports Authority (PPA) and Western Australian Minister for Transport Dean Nalder.
The move was designed to increase competition in towage services at the port, which is the world’s largest exporter of iron ore.
