SwissMarine has picked up a Japanese-owned panamax bulker on a period contract as the Baltic Dry Index took a turn for the better today.
It has taken in the 82,200-dwt Navios Southern Star (built 2013) on a 12 month contract at an indexed rate, the Baltic Exchange reports.
Today, panamaxes were commending $6,459 daily in the spot market, around double the level seen at this stage of 2016.
