Thoresen Shipping has acquired a 10-year-old supramax, continuing a busy period of sale-and-purchase activity for the Thai company.
US brokers said the shipowner had bought the 58,000-dwt Maritime Unity (built 2008) for $14m.
The price is in line with expectations for the Tsuneishi Heavy Industries Cebu-built vessel.
Thoresen Shipping is the dry bulk arm of Bangkok-listed strategic investment group Thoresen Thai Agencies (TTA).
