Collapsed Hanjin Shipping is looking to lay off 350 office workers in Korea as part of its court receivership.
The jobs could go as early as December, Korean media reported, leaving just 300 people to run its Asia to US operations, which are up for sale.
Union officials want employees to be transferred to others parts of the Hanjin group.
Management is also due to start discussing redundancies with unionised seafarers.
