Oslo-based Songa Bulk is expanding its fleet with a modern kamsarmax bulker.
The STX-built 80,000-dwt Maverick Genesis (built 2010) has been purchased at auction for $13.2m, sources say.
Managing director Herman Billung declined to comment.
The ship is the last in the fleet of Efploia Shipping, which ordered it for $54m in 2007.
The Arne Blystad company started building up its fleet last year, beginning with a purchase of the 82,000-dwt bulker Tenrei Maru (built 2008) for $11.1m
