Bulker values are in the midst of their largest jump in three years as buyers battle for the limited number of available vessels.
Brokers say the sale-and-purchase market is running hot, with Dimitris Koukas of Optima noting in the pages of TradeWinds this week the “exponential speed” at which prices have spiked.
With prices up 25% from where they were eight months ago, according to estimates from Intermodal, major players who opened their cheque books in a low market are seeing the rewards.
