Rumours linking Zodiac Maritime with the demolition sale of one of its older bulkers are untrue.
TradeWinds reported last week that the 264,000-dwt Handan Steel (built 1994) had been sent for scrap in a deal worth between $12.5m to $13m.
However, market sources say the ship is on time charter and continues to trade in the Zodiac fleet.
Zodiac bought the Handan Steel as the single-hull tanker Han Ei from NYK Line for $51m in August 2007 and converted it into a bulker.
