Glencore says it is interested in merging with Bunge in a move that could have significant ramifications for the dry cargo market.
The London-headquarter commodity giant confirmed that it had made an “informal approach” to Bunge regarding a possible “consensual business combination”.
“Following this informal approach, discussions may or may not materialise and there is no certainty that any transaction will occur,” it added in a statement.
