Empire Bulkers of Greece has pulled the Imabari-built, 76,000-dwt bulker Jasmine A (built 2006) from the market after failing to achieve its target price.
The Stamatis Molaris-led company bought the Japanese-controlled ship as the Red Jasmine as late as January for $8m and was set to lock-in a respectable profit disposing of it.
But sources say interest was limited, with the highest bids just in excess of $8m.
