Half year figures from Qinhuangdao Port Co Ltd show that the group of ports in northern Hebei province shipped 115.65m tonnes of coal in the first six months of this year, a 39.9% increase from the 82.66m tonnes shipped in the first half of 2016.
Effectively all of the total would be shipped to eastern and southern Chinese discharge ports.
