Fortune Ocean’s kamsarmax newbuilding order at Tianjin Xingang represents the largest to date for the ship type by a private mainland-China firm.
But it will come as no surprise as the company, set up in 1998 by Sun Xing Tao, has kept a keen eye on expansion.
News of Fortune Ocean seeking kamsarmax newbuildings was first reported in April.
