Five seafarers have been abducted from a general cargoship off Nigeria.

Morocco's H24 website said two Moroccan officers were among the men taken from the 1,300-dwt Oya1 (built 1986) on the night of 30 July in the Gulf of Guinea.

The vessel had left Takoradi in Ghana for Bonny on 27 July.

Other Moroccan media named the two officers as Ahmed Janani, born in 1967, and Abdelkader Benhala, born in 1963.
