German bulker giant Oldendorff Carriers has bought an Iwagi Shipbuilding-constructed ultramax bulker at an attractive price, showing it remains active in the sale-and-purchase (S&P) market.
Sources claim the Henning Oldendorff-led outfit has snapped up the 61,000-dwt In Shimanami (built 2014) from Japan’s MC Shipping for $18.6m, while VesselsValue estimates it to be worth more than $20.5m. However, the exact figure for the vessel, which is on charter to SwissMarine until March next year at $7,218 per day, could not be confirmed.
