Scorpio Bulkers entered a financing transaction for one of its kamsarmax ships as its seeks to lower its debt costs.
The New York-listed shipowner says it will sell the 84,867-dwt SBI Rumba (built 2015) to unaffiliated third parties in Japan for $19.6m.
The Emanuele Lauro-led company will net $6m after repaying the existing loan on the vessel.
The transaction will show up as a financial lease on the company's balance sheet.
