A Japanese bulker has been refloated off Taiwan following engine failure.

The 96,000-dwt Harvest Sky (built 2013) got stuck 0.3 nautical miles off Taoyuan country in rough seas on 14 October.

Taiwan's Maritime and Port Bureau said in a statement cited by the CNA news agency that it was freed on Friday night.

The vessel was towed to safety in strong winds and heavy swell by a tug at high tide.
