Greece's Restis Group has signed a cooperation deal to explore the possibility of building new bulkers in Ukraine.

The Interfax news agency cited Smart-Holding Industrial and Investment Group as saying an agreement has been reached that could see ships constructed at Ukrainian yards.

Any project would involve Smart Maritime Group (SMG), the shipbuilding division of Smart-Holding.

"The customer, Restis Group, and the contractor, SMG, will soon study the technical possibility of implementing the project at Ukrainian shipyards, as well as work out the issues of attracting funding for the project," Smart-Holding said.
