The Greekcompany said it is paying $58.1m combined for the 61,000-dwt Supra Challenger I (built 2012) and Supra Challenger II (built 2013).
The Iwagi Zosen-built bulkers - to be renamed Star Challenger and StarFighter - were previously linked to Baltic Trading and Ocean Bulk.
They will be delivered to Star Bulk in early December and January, 2014, respectively.
The pair will bring the fleet to 15 bulkers, plus nine on order, includingfour ultramaxes.
