The Oslo-listed dry cargo arm of the Scorpio empire said it had ordered six kamsarmaxes and two ultramaxes in China and Japan.
It has opted for first-time deals at China’s Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding (SWS), which will deliver two 82,000-dwt kamsarmaxes in the second and third quarters of 2014, and Jiangsu Yangzijiang Shipbuilding, which will hand over the other four between the third quarter of 2015 and the first quarter of 2016.
