Itis forecast to intensify over the weekend and approach the resource-richPilbara coastal region on Monday, Australia's Bureau of Meteorology said.
“Currentindications are that Port Hedland will experience gales from late Sunday night,”the local port authority said in a statement.
Itadded that the evacuation of 29 vessels in the anchorage areas began onSaturday morning.
Theport authority said it anticipated the last vessel would leave the shippingchannel by 3am on Sunday.
