It said Mitsubishi Corp's Tsuneishi Holdings had agreed to pay up after the contact for a 58,100-dwt supramax was torn up last year.
The ship was ordered for JPY 4.5bn ($45.5m) in 2007 but was hit by delivery delays.
Jinhui axed another 58,100-dwt bulker on order at Tsuneishi’s Philippines facility by mutual consent in 2013.
