The Thai company said it had taken delivery of the vessel on Monday after brokers linked it to the 56,000-dwt OMC-owned Orient Rose in May for $22.1m.

The vessel, TTA’s twenty-fourth, has been renamed Thor Nomadic.

The deal gives TTA a fleet with an average size of 50,600 dwt and an average age of 10.72 years.

It said: “The acquisition is part of TTA’s on-going fleet renewal plan to develop a fleet of modern and standard dry bulk vessels and increase our operating efficiencies.”
