The 99,000-dwt Shin Yahagi Maru, built at Imabari, has been chartered to Chubu Electric Power.
It is described as a state-of-the-art "Hekinan MAX" with a length of 250 metres specifically for the Hekinan thermal power plant.
The ship is replacing a 1992-built vessel on the run and will supply coal under a new long-term consecutive voyage contract.
